Inspired by The Tempest, Spun Glass Theatre present This Noisy Isle, an immersive treasure hunt show, leading children and their families on a magical journey through a strange new land.

The classic Shakespeare play has been adapted to help make concepts of human displacement and the challenges faced by refugees and migrants more accessible to a young audience. This Noisy Isle widens children’s awareness of challenges faced by migrants arriving in the UK through a distinct blend of immersive theatre and street gaming, leading audiences through this mysterious new world.

At 12 noon, Seaford Town Crier, Peter White, will cry ‘The Sussex Day Cry’ followed by a more humorous Seaford version!

The Mayor of Seaford will then raise the Sussex flag next to the Lifeguard huts near the Martello Kiosk.

New for this year, Seaford Town Council has invited local crafters to join the Sussex Day celebrations and they will have stalls on the promenade around the Martello Tower. There are a few places left. If you are a local craft business and wish to have a stall, contact the above email for more information and booking form.

Sussex Day is traditionally observed on the 16th of June each year to celebrate the rich heritage and culture of Sussex. The event takes place on St Richard's Day, the feast day of St Richard of Chichester, the patron saint of Sussex.

Following on from their success in 2018, this summer sees the return of Colour Wave to the Crypt Gallery. Organised by Lynn Beck and Linda Wells, the collaboration of friends from Seaford bring an exciting exhibition of new work to this great venue.

With a diverse range of Art, Craft and Greetings Cards the participating artists are: -

Lynn Beck, whose acrylic paintings of local scenes are noted for their vibrant colours and quirky nature.
Linda Wells creates Hand Felted Textured Landscapes, using Embroidery techniques to add detail.
Lisa Taylor works with textured plaster paintings and wood.
Dawn Shelley Wells paints with a unique twist and unusual angles
Palo Almond works principally in watercolour with her abstracted paintings.
Shirley Burt creates texture and depth in woodland scenery.
Nina Gatward creates alphabet paintings depicting a child's name alongside watercolour landscapes
Sue Casebourne crafts sculpted animals from wool and paints landscapes, lino and woodcuts.
Jan Firbank likes to work with pastels and other mixed media for her portraiture and local vistas.

The Studio will display examples from each artist, whilst the Main Gallery and Undercroft will showcase their collections.

It is free to enter but be aware that on Thursday 1st August, the opening hours are 4 - 7 pm.

This Band comprises Flash Hearth, Raven, Jessie Moonlight and Sergeant Khan who bring their brand of Celtic, bluegrass, alt-country and indie music to the Little Theatre again. The Celtic-Americana band's roots may be found in Wales, Cornwall, England and Virginia, but they produce a unique, contemporary sound.

Jason Dorman of The Tunbridge Wells Forum 'the UKs best small music venue' as voted by NME (they have yet to visit the Little Theatre) said: "The Orange Circus Band is a band that fill my heart with joy and make me sing out loud. An amazing collective of musicians with an incredible collection of songs."
